MechEngage Series

by

The MechEngage SeriesĀ is a new mini-course offered by Mech Club. A certificate is provided to committed participants at the end of the series.

With the motivation of providing students with a service that enables them to further develop hard and soft skills, we have worked hard to develop and tailor the course to accommodate multiple aspects of professional development. Course logistics were conceptualized and ironed out by Shamail Rizwan and Martin Par – both Mech 1T4+PEY students who have a combined skill set that covers anything from technical design to project management. The series takes skills that are widely applicable to the real world and fills in the gaps and loose ends that are not effectively explored in detail as part of the official engineering curriculum.

Spanning the course of multiple sessions, the MengEngage covers topics such as:

– Resume and Cover Letter Analysis and Construction
– Job Description Analysis and Interview Preparation
– Leadership and People Management

In addition, a Technical Series consisting of four sessions are included which provide an in-depth look into the world of SolidWorks and covers topics such as:

– Introductory Sketching & Modelling Techniques
– Advanced Sketching & Modelling Techniques
– Designing Parts for Manufacturing
– Assembly Creation & Exploded Views
– Parts and Assembly Evaluation Tools
– Technical Drawing Creation
– Application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
– Model Aesthetics & Rendering
